Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos was a Redemptorist priest, born in Bavaria and sent as a missionary to the United States, where he was beloved as a gentle confessor and tireless servant of the poor and the sick. He died of yellow fever in New Orleans at forty-eight, having caught the disease while caring for the afflicted. He was beatified by St. John Paul II in 2000. He left behind this simple rule of life, ten practices that form a soul in holiness day by day.
Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos, pray for us.
